Frequently Asked

Questions, answered plainly.

A few of the questions our clients ask most often, before any matter formally begins.

If a decision would meaningfully affect your family, your finances, or your children over the long term, it is worth a considered conversation. An initial call carries no obligation.

We speak first by phone, briefly, to understand the shape of the matter. If we are the right practice for you, we arrange a longer meeting — in person or by video — with the partner most suited to your case.

We regularly appear throughout the Bay Area and represent clients across California. Where local counsel is required elsewhere, we work quietly with trusted partners.

Most matters are billed hourly, with careful, transparent estimates provided at each stage. For some engagements — prenuptial agreements, for instance — a fixed fee is appropriate. We will always tell you which is which.

Discretion is the practice, not a policy. Our office is small by design. Names, files, and correspondence are seen only by those directly working on your case.

Some matters resolve in weeks; others unfold across years. We will be candid about what your case is likely to require and will not encourage haste where patience serves you better.
